Five symptoms that you might be suffering from ovarian cancer

Why is ovarian cancer positioned so high on the scale of mortality?

One of the biggest problems in the diagnosis of ovarian cancer is that many symptoms are not specific. They are also applicable to other, less serious health problems, which leads to consider them less seriously than it should. This means that, in many women, the ovarian cancer has already spread by the time it is discovered. It is therefore more difficult to treat and tens of thousands of women die.

Only 20% of ovarian cancers are diagnosed at an early stage, the majority is discovered when it is already too late. Frightening, right? Some women are never even diagnosed and cancer eventually becomes a silent killer. It is important to know the symptoms and do not overlook the possibility that your health could be in danger. Here are five symptoms that may indicate you are suffering from ovarian cancer:

1- Swelling and abdominal bloating

If you notice that your tummy starts to get hard or bloated, please check that all is well. This may indicate the number of gastrointestinal problems, but it is also one of the main indications of ovarian cancer in women.

2- Loss of appetite or feeling full quickly

If you are less hungry than usual during the day, ask yourself why. The fact of being full when you had only half of your meal can also be a sign of ovarian cancer. On the other hand, a loss of appetite can be a sign of psychological and physical problems in women, so pay attention to how much you eat.

3- A pain in the lower back

If you regularly do stretching exercises and avoid awkward movements and exercises, you live a reasonably active life, and you should not have pain in the lower back. So unless it is due to another reason, such as a herniated disc, do check the status of your ovaries.

4- A pain in the abdomen and pressure in the pelvis

If you feel that something is wrong with your intestines, go see a doctor. Although this may be simply due to something you ate or gas, it is also one of the best indicators of ovarian cancer.

5- A lot of gases and digestive problems

If you suffer from bowel problems or flatulence during several days, go see a doctor quickly. Even if these symptoms seem benign, it could save your life.

Because many ovarian cancers are never diagnosed, it is possible that you have a family history without even knowing it. But if women in your family are suffered from it, you are more at risk of developing it too. Monitor your body, because if you wait too long, it might be too late.
